Saw this today: Galway Bay, In Bloom: Gorse Flower wit beer with lemon and coconut
I usually like Galway Bay beers and this sounded interesting. I've been thinking of using gorse flower in a beer for a while.

It's interesting alright.
Aroma: Sweet. malty yeasty. Smells like an out of date lidl weissbier.
Tastes: like damp cardboard a dog's been sleeping on.
Appearance: Too dark for a witbier, cloudy. Little carbonation.
Head: like our summer. weak and disappearing quickly.

I'm going to the sink now.
the end.

It sounds oxidised.....

LordEoin

it sure does. Wont be buying another for comparison. Craft beer ain't cheap, y'know..

I don't think my review was quite as harsh but the beer was definitely flat.

I found a few of the newer breweries can sometimes bring out sub-standard and flawed beers.
I thought that GB had it sussed and haven't had bad stuff from them, but certainly have from some of the others.

Carb is low on this beer but the oxidised issue is defo down to a bad bottle & is not indicative of the whole batch. The bottle top has obviously got a knock somewhere between leaving the brewery & the shelf of the offie. Email chris@galwaybaybrewery your complaint.

On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Why did ye go with the low carbonation HB? I had a bottle a few weeks ago and I thought carbonation let it down.

Carb level was fine out of the bbt. First bottles off the line were good too. But it would seem the carb in bottle is pretty low for the most part. Kegged version is faring better as its on serving gas. Lessons learned. Carb is checked every few hours in bbt now with the zahn nagel before beer is packaged.

Ah thats fair enough, I thought it was a decision ye made.
