As it says on the tin. If anyone is selling on their kit at a good price, I'm interested, before I go off and get all the parts to build one myself. The guide at http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.ie/wordpress/oxygenating-wort-with-pure-oxygen/ looks good for making one.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

What about the crowd in west Dublin, Rossa got gas there recently as well? All you need then is the diffuser which I think HBC sell or norcal on eBay and a flow gauge from ebay
Go with the finer diffuser

molc

You mean Wholesale Welding Supplies? That's where I was going to get the bits and pieces - just checking here first in case someone was offloading theirs for cheaper first.

Was going to get a 0.5 micron diffuser.

Monkey see, monkey want.
If your ordering give me a shout and ill jump in and split the delivery cost with you.

I just built one of these recently. I got the oxy and regulator from http://www.wholesaleweldingsupplies.ie
The stone I got from a HBS when I was in the states. I also added a filter (also from the HBS) just to make sure. Tubing was silicon 1/4" from the HBC. I wrapped tape around the end of the regulator to make it fit onto my 1/4" tubing (and secured with a clip)

I didn't bother with a flow meter. I turn it on enough to see bubbles then dial it back a bit. My last brew started VERY quickly and kept going for a couple of days than I'd get with just shaking
Issues with your membership? PM me!

I would recommend a flow meter as  you need 1l a minute for 45 Secs for a 1050 or 90 secs for a 1-1.1 monster the reg can deliver up to 5l per min so you run the risk of killing your yeast with supersaturated 02 wort .
The pros aim for plus or minus 3-5 ppm and I know of one where it's 1!!
Remember always as well O2 first for the same reason.
Please correct me on this but off the top of my head;
Normal sloshing gives 8ppm
Aquarium pump 12-15
O2 21-24ish

molc

Aquirium pump and crazy shaking will give close to 8ppm, I believe, which is why you want 02 for anything decent.
@Nigel, sure we can chat about it at the next ncb meet and sort out an order.

dreadful that I use google to find this!! Thanks Dr Jacoby for writing in the first instance :)

Edit this was the original article I was looking for
https://www.wyeastlab.com/hb_oxygenation.cfm

And so as not to derail the original thread hope somebody can help if not you know how to get sorted, I also found you this

I have the one 3 in from the left but the one on the far right looks sweet. Important thing is you can read 1L/min easily

Cheers John. Looks like it's a build, so will hook up with Nigel and get the parts in.

Very hard to calculate your ppm with an inline setup like that. Much easier to hit it with 30 secs oxy at flow rate of 2 litres per minute on your oxygenation wand. In my opinion.
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

So I was looking at getting a setup as well, but the prices have gone up lots since the last group buy, would there be interest in organising one? the  oxyturbo cylinders have gone from €19.50 in the group buy to €35, and regulators have gone from €23 to €31 so a group buy would help knock off some of that price increase.

Leann ull

The increase is directly related to Stg exchange rate as they are coming in from the UK, start a new interested GB thread?

I payed 67e for two more bottles on 28/07/14 (even though I organised the GB with them & knew the previous price - no budging on cost) That was well before the euro took a shit against GBP? Gouging?
