Soon i have to dump my current landline BB, still debating whether to keep the landline itself as i never use it. My only other option around here is to get 3G from Three on my mobile. I have never used mobile internet so i need to know is this a viable option for staying online? Will i be able to stream youtube videos and such with 3G? Three have a great deal atm where if you top up by €20 a month you get unlimited data. Since i am without a laptop anyway for the foreseeable future i figure now is as good a time as any to switch. :-\

thats what i use ......its meh but ok most of the time , you tube isnt the best , but fine for doing the torrent thing........if you are willing to wait ..as more people are useing 4g it is getting better . the way i look at it is i have it ,it will do so why pay more to get it again

delzep

I'm on 3 and their 4G has been great on my mobile (I'm on the 20 quid per 30 days for free data etc. deal). I'm in Dublin though which might make a difference. I'm also able to tether my mobile to my tablet if needs be no problem at all, although that could be down to me being a customer for a few years now

If it's PAYG it's pretty much a tester option. Buy a three Sim top up with 20 and if you're not happy after the first month just don't top up again!

Also check for local wireless broadband schemes.

Three have all you can eat 4G until June 2016 for €25 per month, comes with something like 100 points for sms/call

Covey

All you can eat is like 15gb a month "Should your data usage exceed 15GB in a billing cycle and your usage affect other network users, we reserve the right to limit your Service". i'm paying e40 a month for 60gb....and still go over occasionally.

Unfortunately no 4G available around here,3G is as good as it gets in An Rinn and even then it's spotty in places. :'(

im on 3 payg.........iv often used 40/60gb in a mnth , no problem . once i top up by 20€ its all you can eat, they have never capped my use

armedcor

I'm waaaaay over 15gb a month more like 80/90 and I've never had a problem.

hopapotamus

im sure no one on here is tempted to be downloading anything from the naughty boys cupboard that is the interweb .......... :P

eanna

I have no fixed broadband either, using about 40gigs a month on 3 for 20euro payg. On 4g its plenty fast, 3g you'd have to test it out.

Greg2013

I read the fine print and turns out Covey is spot on,if i exceed 15gb in a month then they have the right to restrict my internet, which makes it virtually useless as i go through 40-60gb a month at least.Of course they don't tell you about this restriction when they are trying to sign you up,if i hadn't checked back after what Covey said i would never have known so thanks for that m8. ;D

What does this all mean: It means if i go through 15gb in the first week then for the rest of that month my internet bandwith/speed is restricted,so in actuality you really have a 15gb/month allowance not the unlimited they tout, pack of cowboys yet again it seems. ;D
