Hi All,

New to homebrew competitions but will enter this year one or two for the constructive criticism if anything.

Just wondering for the entries, how beneficial is filling out everything in the Optional Information section or is this for brewers records only?
If it is one of the main styles all the judges see is a number. Feedback will be on the most common factor as they won't know your actual process.

I'm afraid to say that you need to read the style guidlines about the extra info supplied to the judges. You could give a recipe for an IPA but the system won't communicate this to the judges (as the BJCP states there is no requirement)

However for an experimental beer or a fruiy sour the this info. IS required and IS passed onto the judges via the flight sheets (flight sheets are part of the comp software and are all about stewards delivering the beers in the corrcet order)

You may now realise that organising a BJCP sanctioned comp is NOT that easy!

BUT: Please ask more questions and enter we can always fine tune the info!
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

Brewed a red ale in December that I'm very happy with. Would it be worth sending 2 bottles into the competition, just for the experience and for a the fun of it? Myself and my friends thoroughly enjoy the beer but I don't know if it's a competition winner.

Cheers, I'm pretty excited for it now. Bought ingredients today for an American Pale Ale that I hope I might be able to sneak in too!

This took some finding. Can someone pop it on the registration process under entry info and the NHC homepage?

As far as I'm aware Dunkel it's in Alfie Byrne's, same venue as last year.

Just wanted to check, I put my name down to steward at the Belfast leg, is that OK if you're putting entries in as well?
