Should be OK once they are there on time.

Hey, I just realised that I've done something a bit silly. On one of my entries I forgot to wipe off the marker on the cap (which I use for identifying my beers) before I left it at the drop point. Please tell me this isn't automatic disqualification because it's my 12 month aged imperial stout which I brewed specifically for the competition and I'd be gutted if it was disqualified because of my stupidity   :(
Everyone has to believe in something, I believe I'll have another drink...

Kidding I know some of you think we are complete bastards and are soulless but we had all rules about bottle sizes and labels for years now and folks were just ignoring us as they were just not enforced.
This is on the minor element of that scale  so I'll personally sort this one for you pm me your drop point.
Maybe not so forgiving next year as we turn the screw a little bit and have people actually follow the rules ;)

Any indication yet of which categories are being judged in Belfast and which will be in Dublin?

Leann ull

Really sorry but I don't believe we publish that before comp, was there a reason you wanted to know? To be there to collect medals?

Can't see the reason for secrey here - unless there is a news blackout from Belfast!

Also if you are at the bottle sorting you will spot .....

The bottle sorters will all be drugged afterwards and won't remember a thing

The less that is known by all entrants of the competition about the allocation of flights cats etc, the better the integrity of the comp and why only one person has the master list of name to number and cats, besides we are judging beer in Belfast not specific cats

So you are saying I have to bribe two sets of judges?

Would be easier to just learn how to be a competent brewer,  sheesh.

Leann ull

2017 entrants to Nationals read this

On the right a lovely packed bag where the entrant has gone to a lot of trouble to ensure  packaging will ensure his brewed product will get to the competition in optimum condition.

On the left an array of bottles with marked clearly identifiable caps in a flimsy ripped shoebox totally unsuitable for that number of bottles and an entry in 330's
Alfie's complained that they nearly broke them and so did I.

I will be governed by competition committee but to me this is instant disqualification.
In any case I'm sure the judges that get these marked bottles will score them down :(

So for the very last time

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
