Sorry to ressurect an old topic but I'm just wondering has anyone tried one of these ? I'm wondering how it would suit a HLT made out of an old keg.

The issue would be power supply. You couldn't run 6000w on a regular home socket.

Could you not run it off the cooker's circuit?  What sort of draw would 6kw have 20a?

Closer to 30amps (27) it would run off a cooker or shower supply. Those 3 element heaters are really designed as three phase heaters rather than a single phase supply. You could however run as a single phase heater with each element switched to give more control over the vigour of the boil

You also need to consider cleaning.

That looks like a 3 phase element for a Bain Marie or a big burco type water heater.

Note I said WATER. If you look at the element, when mounted on the bottom of the boiler/BM there will be only say a 3 mm gap 'tween the elements and the bottom. If you use this to boil wort then life expectancy will be short as the build up of crud during the boil will cause local overheating. You would probably need to dismantle it to completely clean the element.

In an ideal world elements for Kettles would be low density: for example a 2.5kw element needs to be about 6 foot long! (Look in a Brewmeister)
