Now here's a bummer of a question:

"Capped at 400 entries" - Does that include Wine/Mead/Cider ??
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

This is the one used last year, and for the National Off-License Association for their blind tastings for "Wine of the Year". But I think the gradings can be a bit derogatory, and so prefer yours CH.

HOW TO SCORE (GRADE GUIDE) IN A WORLD CONTEXT.... NOT JUST YOUR FLIGHT
Class A   19 – 20    Sublime; out of this world; a wine that you would have on your death bed!
Class B   17 – 18    Stunning, with depth and multilayered complexity whose quality and style are commensurate with its price..one for a lotto win or a celebration
Class C   15 – 16    A delicious wine with good complexity whose quality and style are commensurate with its price..one for a special evening  with really good friends
Class D   13 – 14    A very nice wine whose quality and style are commensurate with its price.one you would be pleased to receive  or give as a gift
Class E   11 – 12    Fairly good for its price and style. A midweek quaffer when things are a bit tight.
Class F   8 – 10    Basic, ordinary. Last one on the rack and you have no idea where it came from.
Class G   5 – 7     Barely drinkable. Something refused at a function for 500 people
