Good idea. This whole continuous improvement points thing was news to me when Gordon said it.

Would you say these will run into July? I won't be around until the second week of July but would love to drop in to do some off flavour tasting

You could just go to one of the Liffey Brewers meet ups if you'd like to try some off flavors.  ;D

Along with Ciaran and Robotmonkey the live stream Belfast would have me in. It's the progression I need but to be fair Brewcon was a stretch with the missus. Doesn't help every time I come back from Dublin I'm winged.
Life moves pretty fast.....if you don't stop and look around once in a while....you could miss it.

Hi Guys,

Theres a lot of interest in the new course already.

You can gain experience points before you even join the Bjcp and sit the exams!

As some may know we ( the North County Brewers) are holding a BJCP registered competion in the Old Borough, Swords on the 29th of May. Thats two weeks tomorrow. We are looking for 3 more judges to help us out. Problem is its on a Sunday. The first train from Dublin gets into Malahide at 9:40. We can pick you up from the station!

We aim to start at about 10 am and be finished the first round by 12 ish. Then there's a BOS round and then the craft afternoon. We will have beers to give away!

Naturally food is provided for the judges and stewards.

If you can help us out please update this thread:

Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

Any indication whether the living streaming idea is a runner? I know there'd be some takers for it down here in the  PRC.

Would need a location with good wifi, lighting & a good webcam (maybe a tablet?) - last year it was dark enough for our own eyes, let alone for a video camera to try & work in.

Worth a try tough,  through YouTube Live, Periscope or similar.

Issue is, can we/somebody always remember to bring suitable gear & set it up - any volunteers.

Think it should go on the to do list at least.

Would those that want to do it remotely consider paying a surcharge as you will be saving train fare etc? And what is reasonable? 10 a session to sit and do it from home? Reason I ask there may may be a semi-pro that would do it rather that putting that on the organisers

mr hoppy

What would the surcharge cover? I'm not saying no - if there's an additional cost to the club very happy to pay it plus a reasonable margin but train fare is a red herring. Travelling to Dublin on a regular basis for this is just not an option for me regardless of cost.

Forget the trainfare thing I guess I was just asking the question to see whether if people can't travel could they pay for it to be done properly as its not fair to expect the current organisers to have to provide that facility as well as organise everything else.
I'm sure the club would make a contribution as well but think it should be for members only.
There may even be  a member out there that has all the gear that doesn't mind getting out of bed early on a Sat morning to do a nixer?
