Dublin Maker is back this year. We have been demoing at Dublin Maker for the last two or three years and it is one of my favourite brewing demo events. This is because of the type of crowd that attend these events, the are all Makers, and they "get it" so you have a full day of interesting conversations.

Another good point is that is outdoors and its a real family event. It a one day event so not too much hassle from home, but it gets better - its genuinely an event that kids will love - loads to do for them from lego to lads making swords. Its one of the few events where we cross over into the real family world - even if we are the weirdos in the corner !!Our stand usually get a lot of interest, mainly from the dads but that's understandable ! I cleared it with organisers last year that we are allowed to give out samples of beer to attendees so I would be hoping to have a minimum of two kegs for attendee's to sample.

I will attend the advance meetings (first one is in TOG next Tuesday @ 6.30pm) and sorting out the emails  and also putting together a couple of boxes for display.

I usually make a gadget every year for the event and this year I'm going to make a WiFi enabled bubble counter. The plan would be that it counts the frequency of the bubbles, uploads that data to a free cloud graphing service and gives you a very rough idea of fermentation activity. If there is a lot of interest in that gadget I will get a run of PCB's done and sell them on the forum.  I would encourage anyone that is coming to bring a little gadget for the day, it could be a stir plate, a temperature controller, etc... the makers absolutely love that stuff.

Hi Shiny,

Did it three years ago & loved it. Have a young lad at home who is now at the age where he will get a great kick out it. Being the master of bodge (read poor design/implementation  :)) I have a few things I can display (immersion chiller, stir plate, pid temperature controlled socket). It might be the spur to finish my raspberry pi project for temperature monitoring.

Less than a week to go for this now. I'm going to update the usual homebrew flyer to reflect all of the new clubs that have been created since it was last edited and I will print out 5 or 600 of them.

I have the Capital brewers banner and some demo equipment and ingredients in TOG which I should be able to bring over myself.

1. Shiny 10-6pm
2. Shanna 2-6pm

Even if you only had a few hours spare to help out on Saturday it would be great.

Could call out to you late on Friday night if you would be there? Will also take away the two fermenters from you that you have very generously minded for me.

Sure I should be home. Drop me a message on the day and we'll sort it put.

I started too late unfortunately,  the plan was to hook it up to a WiFi module and plot it online.  I will just show it on the LCD for maker as a demo.
