Getting back into brewing after nine months and i placed an order with HBC last Friday and could not resist picking up the kit below for a quick easy keg filler. I have never brewed this before and i see varying opinions on the quality of these Munton's kits.I was able to dig up little to no information on the yeast that comes with this kit but i would hazard a guess that it is an ale yeast ?I also did a search on here and found two old posts but no really helpful info to speak of.

When order comes in i will have some Munich malt,crystal120,crystal 60,lager malt, and a little Northern Brewer(50gr) and Tettnang(50gr) pellets left over.I was hoping to mini mash this one to maybe 21lt could use some advice as to what grain bill would match this best.Unfortunately Beersmith does not support Munton's kits so i can't use that to design the recipe,TIA. ;D

I'd probably go with a quick crystal steep (250g), bring to the boil with 10g Northern Brewer for 15min, 20g for 5min + w34/70

Pitched 1 x M84 yeast starter @ 10.30hrs 15/06/2016.

Mangrove Jacks M84 Bohemian Lager Yeast was BB 12/2015 so grew a stareter 12 hrs previous to pitching using simple table sugar solution. This batch is being brewed at ale temperatures.

OG was originally 1042/26.5lt and on advice of Gash i added 290gr table sugar 15/06/2016 about 12hrs after pitching yeast. This was to adjust OG from 1042-1047 giving a better abv and aiding attenuation.

After four days this has dropped from 1047-1010. I have now put the Fv into my kitchen fridge to condition, something which after 3yrs of home brewing i only recently discovered i could do. ???

Although this was originally a bock bier kit it is a whole different animal now.I wanted something brewed at ale temps because i no longer have lagering capabilities, also i wanted something lower abv quick and easy drinker to replenish stocks, even though this is not to style i hope it will at least be drinkable. ;D

If i were to do this kit again i would probably go more along the lines of what LE said and maybe also short brew it so i could use a smaller fv and fit it in my kitchen fridge at proper lager temps. ;D
