Need to send a package to the UK this week containing 3 bottles of homebrew. I tried the post office but was told they wouldn't transport alcohol let alone water.

Anyone else know who to use for mailing it or has anyone had any success lately sending the bottles of homebrew and spoofing about the contents?

Wrap it up and don't tell them what's in it.

Or if you can get it to the north you can post it there no problem.

For the love of Gawd and all his saints you didn't tell them what was in it did you??  Btw cheapest way to send a heavy item like 3 bottles would be parcel motel or GLS.

tommy

Using GLS for €15 which is very cheap, for contents I just put down candle holders. Delighted the post office wouldnt take them when I went home and actually compared prices. Cheers lads

You just have to empty the bottles first and then stick the candle in.

Homebrewdog comp ?

I was planning on sending mine via parcel motel. Put them in the big locker with a "This Way Up" sign on it to hopefully prevent too much shaking etc.

I was waiting for someone to say it. Ya sending a sneaky stout over but wouldn't be too optimistic considering my entry # is in the mid 200's and i filled out the entry form over a month ago. I wouldnt worry too much about the shaking presuming they will open the package in the next week, store it cold it will all resettle by mid September when they judge.

An entry number is handed out to anyone who downloads the application form. I'd say the actual amount of entries will be much lower.

Yeah thats a good point, might work out a bit cheaper to send via An Post too.

I'm the same, in the high 300's and applied at the start of last month. Not the most optimistic but said I'd send something in for the craic. Have an IPA and a BIPA waiting to mature a bit before I decide which one to send over.
