While we're relatively financially ok for the Brewing Championships in 2013 thanks to generous sponsors, it would be nice if we could fund raise for the NBC 2014, and for more and better competitions and events in 2013.

Anyone any ideas for fund raisers? Even raffles would be considered, but I think we can come up with more than that!

For anyone into football - i used to run a last man standing competition.

Not sure if you're familiar.
tenner to enter.
Pick a team each week in the prem league.
If it wins you go through to next round.
Ya cant pick same team twice.
I've software, i wrote, to track it.
Last person left gets the pot, of which, the club would take 25% - or whatever the legal maximum is these days for fundraising.

I'll start a thread to see what interest it might generate.

Another idea along the same lines. But may open it out to a wider audience.
Lotto Bingo!
They used to run this with the locals in a pub i used to work in
Everyone picks six numbers (within the lotto number range).
Your numbers get marked off if they appear in the main lotto draw (excluding the bonus, but we could hammer out the exact rules)
First person/people to get their 6 numbers win the pot minus NHC contribution.

pros:
More appealing to a wider audience.
Runs all year round.
The lovely people at the lotto pull the balls out for us so there cant be any arguments.

Cons:
Less entertaining than the football idea IMO
I dont have software sitting there to track it - but we could just do it in forum posts while i develop something.

I think that is a great idea. It would also raise awareness of cask beers with the general public.

I was at one in england over the summer. It was in the beer garden of a pub in a village called Radnage. From a beer point of view it looked relatively easy. The casks were  on show behind a bar in a marquee on a rack that some local chippie knocked up. They were serving directly from the casks i.e. no beer engines. They had 30 different beers from 15 breweries all within 30 miles of this county village. The previous year they had 15 casks and sold out.
Would there be  enough cask beer producers in ireland for something like this?
