Sound bar v bose speaker

Basically I want to improve the sound from the flat screen. It's 2 years old.
Options are a 2.1 sound bar and option of a woofer or a bose solo 5. Read a review of the bose and it wasn't brilliant.
Anyone got good advice, have a budget upto 250€,but happy to spend less😊😊.

Before Chrimbo I bought a Samsung Bar for my desktop big screen display (as it had crap sound). No sub-woofer but very happy with it.
