Looking for a large auto syphon (siphon?) that would fit a 33L fermentation bucket, in or around the South Dublin or Kildare area. I can collect. I've had bad luck with these to date so I'd like something with a good track record. Also the homebrew company are all out at the moment.

Thanks

SprocketFuel

I've never had any issues with the one I got from MottlyBrew

The fermtech ones are great and I believe hbc have them on order. Maybe check with them on an eta.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

Thanks, I might hold off for one of those so. Shane from The Homebrew Company says he expects them in the week after next (the week of 20th March)

I really only have good things to say about these. Worked a dream for me.

+1 on the Fermtech. I got one on Ebay delivered to Parcel Motel a couple of weeks ago, came to €25 or €26 total.  It's by far the best Syphon I've ever had.

Go mad and buy a length of silicone hose for it and its stop all the faffing with that eel in a bucket PVC hose that comes with it

Damofto

Yes totally agree CH, it is a bit awkward and I saw you mention that before, so as it happens I had a length delivered today from the HBC.

Not cheap but fighting that PVC tubing is a ball ache

Damofto

Yes, worth it though because the Syphon itself is a dream to use, just one push and away she goes - no bubbles. I ruined 2 batches because of oxidation with my old one.

Broke my old autosyphon couple of weeks back and was holding off to see if HBC were getting the Fermtech ones back in so i am glad to hear they will have them soon. ;D

CH i don't suppose you know the correct ID silicone to get and what length would you suggest ? ;D

You might have to DIY it a bit, and use some hose clips, but you should be able to make an equivalent replacement for a siphon out of silicone tube.

And you can sanitise silicone by boiling it

@greg Hbc will let you know
