Interesting article Padraic. People always forget that our biggest trading partner was Britain, and any knock-on effect of negative Irish sentiment would always impact on Irish producers exporting to Britain.

For Guinness it was the reality of possible disassociation from Ireland for commercial survival.

However, it's ironic that 30 years later Park Royal is closed.
