Hi Benji,

Details are still being worked on the competition wrt the finalization of venues, club cup, etc, but provisional dates for the 2 legs are 17th February and 3rd March.

Expect a full announcement confirming the details in the next couple of weeks.

Cheers,

-Barry

Afternoon,

I'm planning ahead for the Nationals and looking at dates etc.  Are those dates mentioned above set yet?

Cheers,
Colin

Sorry, Colin; missed your post yesterday.

Yep; you can pretty much take those dates as read. Still working on the finer details but an announcement is imminent (I promise).

Any word on the club cup and how it's going to be done?

Cheers Barry.

I don't know if it's possible but if we knew what categories would be judged on the separate dates it would be a great help to those brewing beers that are best enjoyed young.

Thanks again,
Colin

I second Fishjam's request. Having previously judged American Pale Ales, I can recommend that anyone who has already brewed one, don't enter it into the nationals. Don't waste all that Amarillo. Wait for it.... wait for it...

Or maybe even assign the early drinkers to a certain leg - there you go lads Pales and the likes aim to have ready to drink Feb 17th. Again just a suggestion.

Hi guys,

Categories, club cup, and other such details are still being finalised, so there's not a huge pile I can tell you right now, but please keep your suggestions coming too, as it all helps. Appreciate your point re the early drinkers.

(Apologies for the blatantly politician-sounding answer there  ??? )

Cheers,

You've a lot on your plate, lads and lasses, you tell us when you're ready.

There's only a fortnight between the dates anyway, and the beers are stored well (Irish_Goat is a cellar-managing legend), there's not going to be that much deterioration in quality, even in a wheat beer, although it seems I can only keep a banana ester bottled for about an hour.
