Suggestion for CO2 refills...

I know about AJ Edge, and have been up there twice to buy bottles/gas.

It really does seem like the best deal going and I'm thankful that they supply the public.
I notice that there is a deal for NHC and it got me wondering...

If there is some existing relationship between NHC and AJ Edge, I wonder if it would be possible to suggest to them that they open up for a couple of hours on a Sat.  Say, once every 3months or something.
That way NHC members could plan refills around those opening times without taking time off work. 
I'm guessing most of us have a spare cylinder and can keep going for a while on that.

I mentioned it last time I was up there and there seemed to be some interest.
Maybe it needs a push from this end if it sounds like a good idea?

As someone that ran out of gas yesterday and works nowhere near AJ Edge i 100% endorse this idea. I'll stick a poll on the members forum to see if there's much interest. Great idea arrbee

Issue is here these lads are only serving us as and aquarium fellas a stroke with the low price, I know some of their commercial clients pay double that, their hours are odd like they finish at 3 on a Friday and don't like to see us first thing as they are busy with orders. I can empathise that it's desperately inconvenient to those of us at work but to expect folks to work on their day off is a bit much tbh, I know the boss might support it but for the lads that's a rough request.

Maybe the way around it is say once a a list is generated here in the members area on those that want to get gas and we ask them to open for an hour one sat a month kinda thing. It would be only a request opening though not regularly and probably a min of say 2 fills in total?

That would do a couple of things.
Nobody or only 1 fill on the list they don't need to get out of bed.
Guarantees them to be busy for the hour and commercially worth their while?

Probably no harm for us that currently get filled Mon-Friday use the sat service idea as well to ensure it's viable and continues and shows how many of us from NHC use them?
It would be good to meet other members as well and maybe even swap a few beers

Yeah I think this was what Arrbee was getting at ... we try to get a group of homebrewers that need top ups and only once we reach a threshold ... say 15 or 20 fills then we approach them to open for an hour. Let's get a poll going to see who is interested.

No problem at all. 

TBH I was thinking along the lines of it being a regular thing rather than "once there is enough names"  but if thats what it takes to make it happen,  then that would still work.

Maybe if it gets off the ground and there is regular interest or if the threshold of people is being met fairly often, it could switch to a regular thing and benefit AJ Edge by potentially being less frequent.
For me personally, every 6 months would probably be enough.

A lot of this can be worked out at the local club level.
If someone in your local club is off during the week and willing to do a run over to Brey post in the club sub forum. You arrange dropping tank, throw them a few bottles or yo-yo's for peterol and jobs a good one.
Reminds me. I'm just out of co2 myself.

The only way to know for sure is to ask them. That will ultimately decide whether to close this thread or not. I'll see what they say and update the thread after.
