Home Brew Suppliers in Ireland

Moved back to Ireland from the UK in January. Just getting back into brewing now, and was wondering what suppliers exist here?

IIRC it was HBW, HBC & GEB were the big ones.

I used to shop primarily with malt miller, hop & grape & brew uk, shifting between them when stuff was in or out of stock, or shopping with brew builder or keg kingdom for equipment & spares.

Hit a wall here when I needed something that was out of stock in all the irish suppliers, or *very* expensive (*cough* lager yeast *cough*). Would typically hit up a UK supplier if that was the case, but dont want an order stuck in limbo, if the politics goes particularly bad over there.

Where else do people go to buy stuff?

Sin é. HBW aren't holding much stock of grain / hops / yeast these days. HBC & GEB are your main options.

Good to know. What I need is on GEB, but their stock counting has always been suspect. £3.50 STG for Fermentis 34/70 versus e5.50+ on irish stores.  And I need 4-5 packets of them .... admittedly lager yeast always seems to be especially pricey (gateway to liquid yeast).

It looks like lager yeast prices are getting worse. Fermentis 34/70 is rising in UK stores. And I would say the 3.50stg price for it is looking a suspect on the site I checked it out at. Those 100g packs of MJ yeast seem to be the only wallet friendly option (and I have used their bavarian lager yeast to make a great beer before)

Have heard good things about Diamond Lager yeast and it's pretty cheap

Picked up one of the 100g packs of MH bohemian lager yeast.  I need at least 40-50g of yeast anyway for a 55L x 1.050 brew, and using more cells lets me ferment colder with more confidence. Can use the second batch another time if I want to risk it (though it feels odd).

Will look into the diamond lager, didnt know it existed until I started looking for other yeasts.
