I think JG connectors with a small bit of pipe is easiest option.
I have ordered a gauge and will show you result when it arrives

Just made one of these for testing keg pressure rather than fermenting in a keg

From one of these

one of these

and one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-4Bsp-x-1-4-Hose-Tail-To-Suit-6mm-ID-Hose-Pack-Of-2-/290555767612?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:IE:3160

with a bit of grey gas pipe forced over the end

other end is just my JG and a post

Only problem is after I remove it it hold the pressure when jumping across to another keg so I end out depressing barb in the post to release, some kind of release valve would work easier.
I made it as not all my kegs are continuously pressurised and I think one has a slow leak

sorry I should have said it doesnt drop to zero and I have to release the pressure if I am looking for a reading on the next keg below the last reading, hence my requirement to release pressure

Ciderhead

you are absolutely right it equalises and reverts to the lower pressure, very useful for measuring force carbed bottles for the competiton :)
