I'd recommend you set aside a few regular 500ml bottles as well. Not only because it's good to practice using your capper but also you'll no doubt hand bottles out to friends and you'd never see the flip top again.

So idea is to only bring flip tops to people if am gonna supervise and participate in drinking the beer and bring the bottles home with me again!!

The 500ml bottles are great I tend to keep them whenever I have them at the house. don't have that many at the moment though. I think a shopping trip might be in order

Hi Thomas

Looks like I'll be ready for a few flippy tops sooner than I thought. Am up to 5.9% vol this am after only a week, as because I'm not doing a secondary fermentation am probably going straight to bottles within the week to allow it to finish off in the bottles.

I have a handful so might do a few trial ones in the next few days for some practise

Do you still have a few handy that I could pick up from you in the coming days ?

Went in to see Dave on Thurs he was very nice so fingers crossed  :-)

I'm off this week and next on holidays but I've some stashed away, just ask one of the beerhall staff and tell them I sent you. I threw a few  regular 500ml bottles in too so ask for those as well.

Also if anyone needs Duvel bottles there's a box of those there as well.
