Hi Tube,

I reached out the guys on the North side initially as there was nobody on the South side involved in this at the time. Now I see that there are some other involved will get in touch with them to see what the story is.  I will contact the others in the Capital Brewers and South to see if they are interested or can facilitate a group collection/distribution.

Just in passing combined the Dublin brewers (e.g. North, Central and South) between them are taking 325 kg of grain. If you add in the Liffey Brewers 137.5 kilograms then you nearly have a 1/2 metric ton. Not sure many cars would hold either.

Regards,

Shanna

Hi lads,
Have the van organised for one afternoon on a day of our choice (weekdays). Thanks to my boss. I can move the load from Cork to Dublin. I'm free after 2pm. We have to cover the cost of diesel and tolls (if any) and I promissed Ger good few samples from everybody. No home deliverys please just transport fom A to B. As I have to get some sleep and work next morning.
Ideas and comments welcome.

Great stuff Alex.
What capacity can you take?
Please advise expected route, and hopefully lads can do short term storage for others.

alealex

Sprinter lwb. Dont want to take nothing bigger, cos of diesel cost. 1,500kg easily.

I can pick up the midlands grain from dublin and bring it to mullingar if that helps

alealex

You're welcome with help. DaMun might sort Roscrea as he offered help.

Yep Alex, If it suited You/We could detour via Roscrea and drop all Midlands and West grain for collection by Midlanders or  Westerners. I have loads of space and can store for a while.

Where the malt has to be collected from? South Link Bussiness Park, Cork?

It could be Midleton (15 mins out) or the City yet.
I have to look at a few things when I get home.

Shanna

Hi Alealex

I am offering to collect and distribute to Central and South Dublin brewers. Will pay my share of tolls and fuel costs plus provide some home brew samples. Would it be possible to arrange a delivery to a city centre location for myself and north County dublin brewers to collect from? Would be looking to collect and redistribute that evening as I don't have facilities to store so much grain securely.

If your okay my suggestion I will get in touch with other Dublin based brewers to get the logistics sorted out.

Thats perfect Shanna,
yep, I'll be happy if you could suggest it to the rest of Dublin clubs to get themselves organised to distribute same way if possible, please.

Plan so far is to go from Carlow> Cork> Roscrea> Dublin> Carlow (some 600km, 80-90 ltrs diesel, 4 tolls)
Is Galway/Mayo ok with collection from Roscrea?
How about Waterford area?
Cheers.

alealex

What way are we paying for the malt? Do we know final price?

As the van is passing right by kildare enroute to Dublin, I can take my own and Liffey brewers. Lucan is awkward to get to.
Im just one minute from the motorway by van.  Can have a cup of coffee and a sambo waitin for alex.  If that suits?
Ill take liffey grain to the next meet in a few weeks if thats any good with the Liffey lads? Unless the liffey lads have another arrangement.
