Had my first porter last night, Dark Arts Porter from Trouble Brewing in County Kildare. Excellent brew, loads of dark bitter chocolate up front followed by a good second punch of black roasted barley followed by a hint of coffee and hop bitterness. I was very impressed with this beer 4/5.

That's lovely stuff alright. Give Fuller's London porter a go, that's a nice drop and relatively easy to come by. Went on a Porter binge a while back, for 'research' purposes and these two stood out.
drinking - Brown porters (plain/oak aged/vanilla)
conditioning - American Amber (Jamil's evil twin)
Fermenting - air

Actually have that Fullers in the fridge with a while Dara, its the only one the local Dunnes sell.

Really didn't like Fuller's LP. Thought it was a low point in their range.

Why was that Tube? Just so i have something to work off.

I had the Fuller's LP when it was on cask in the Bull and Castle. It was one of the handful of beers that I really enjoyed on cask, perhaps its not as good in the bottle.

You should go to the docs maybe... First you don't like belgian beer, and now this?

Maybe my mild was really good after all  ;)

Dark Arts is the business - big fan of stouts/porters, and I think this is one of the best of the Irish ones!
