Small hose clips in Cork City

Good morning Rebels,

I'm mid kegerator build up in Galway and hoped to to get it all plumbed up last night but found out my jubilee clips were too large.

On my way to Cork for the weekend - is there anywhere in Cork City ye would recommend for finding small jubilee clips? (for ~9mm OD hose)

I tried B&Q in Galway but they were all too large to give a snug even clamp.

Thanks

Joe

Jubilees only go so small owing to the screw mechanism.
You would nearly need to go the route of hose crimps for this.
Any specialist places for this would more than likely be closed at the weekend.
Think Hydraulics.

These are the only places I can think of:

Irish International Trading on Tramore Road are open until lunch time Saturday.

Atkins on the Carrigrohane Road might be worth a shot too. They're open until lunchtime Saturday.

Thanks all. I found about 6 or 7 places today selling them but the smallest was the same as I have. I've seen smaller available on eBay.

But after a bit of reading I think I'm going to go with cable ties. Two small cable ties with join at opposite side of hose will give snug even fit. The hoses fit nice and tight onto the barbs anyway.

Is there likely to be pressure in the hoses? If not, would an interference for fit do?

Yeah up to a max of around 40psi. Hoses are reinforced so no likely to expand ID much under pressure.

An "interference for"?

You could try the Coop superstore. I bought some small jubilee clips in the one in Carrigaline. They also have stores in Midleton and Mallow.

Jubillee aka "Worm drive" clips are not the best at small diasmeters.

They do make a range called "Jubille Junior" that use a nut and bolt through a steel band to tigten up the hose.
Smallest they do is 7 - 9 mm

Also car manufucturesr use the molded nylon clips that are seraated and just push into each end of themselves

Have a look under the bonnet of your car and you will see examples of them on the smaller lighter duty tubes.

Get thee to a car parts supplier!

Take a bit of tubing with you!

Thanks for the tip... called into a car parts supplier today and got some 8-10mm hose clips. :)

Sounds like you have the job done now but did you try Home brew west in Liosbán, Galway? I think that they would be a good place to try for such items, I get most of my home brewing stuff there. They supply kegging equipment and accessories http://www.homebrewwest.ie/other-kegs-barrels-tapadraft-gas-co2-no-accessories-58-c.asp

Hopefully this will be helpful for someone else in the future  :)
