Stainless where possible, but copper also good. 1 x HLT, 1 x MT, 1 x Copper, 2 x 'Fomenters, 3 x Bright Beer tanks, plumbing and pumps.

To be built from the likes of ex dairy stuff. Plastic acceptable for the HLT.

Budget €5,000, which I'll put up.

Hop Bomb

On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Its a bit early in the day to start drinking!

Do you want sourced designs (with typical equipment prices) or do expect some of us to build a brewery and only the winner gets paid!!

this sounds like it'd be a good opportunity for the nhc to help support a start up cooperative brewery in belfast...

matthewdick23

could b used as for trial batches in the north and then journey south once it's home is prepared...

it'd be a cross boarder intergalactic system. i think it'd attract eu funding.

and its journey across the boarder would make an excellent documentary...from one northern beer geek to an old guy down south with a beard...

DEMPSEY

The traffic here on our little homebrew web site has increased alot in the US when they began seeing pic's of Taliban Tube :P

wud yis not consider tanks uk virgin hdpe fermenters ( any size possible) ... check out the plastic and finish of the inside...its like as hard as stainless and he can make the walls as thick as u want..all he does is add more plastic powder.

brenmurph

thats impossible.. sure half the food products in the supermarket is in plastic and even worse soft plastics. mayonaise and tomato sauce arrives in the local chippies in 10 litre plastics, cooking oil and pretty much everything we eat is wrapped, packed and stored in plastic.

why would hse not allow food grade virgin hdpe in a food plant?

brenmurph

maybe u dont bleach them enough  :D  ok if thats the reason....

If this brewpub is a destination pub (cant remember if that is the right terminology), I want to see a stainless steel playground when I get my tour.

I think this is one case when our "more country cousins" can source s/h dairy ss equipment better than us city slickers.

There ain't much s/h dairy ss stuff in Malahide!

Recall that the scrap value for stainless is about €1 per kilo!
