Hi all. I want to connect my pressure barrel to a gas bottle via a regulator and 3/8" gas pipe using industry standard push fittings, however the thread on the barrel  cap valve is not BST, does anyone have a solution for this? I don't want to use the wee CO2.bulbs because they work out expensive compared to a CO2 supplier I have just met. An alternative to BOC.

Although I have 14 corny kegs I still have and use an old rotakeg. (plastic keg)
I used a 10mm stainless gas tap from the plumbers shop fitted it to the lid of the keg, and usa a John guest fitting to attach the gas line via a 10mm copper pipe.. pretty simple connect you gas to about 3--5psi open tap...gas goes in to 3-5psi (thats not 35psi ???)  3, 4 or 5 psi just to be clear ;)... and shut off the valve and  disconnect the gas line.  Or you can leave the line on if your serving the whole keg.
the pressure relief valve will blow off at just a few psi anyway...DONT override the relief valve because the keg WILL burst.

If you want more remind me tomora and ill send some close pics of the setup..its really simple and allows me just connect my normal corny keg gas setup

here ye go

all basic plumbing from the plumbers suppliers, replace the standard fitting that comes with the barrell. that needs a soda stream type gas bottle.

If u modify your keg / barrel you can stull make use of the co2 bulb dispenser from the homebrew shop

Here's mine:

A bsp tank connector and a bsp to 3/8 JG fitting.

These plastic kegs are only rated to about 10 psi so be careful with the regulator pressure
