Hi All, reminder another quality brew and tasting day, all welcome for an hour or the whole day.
Bus from Dublin westmorland st, 5 euros to our door at South Kildare Brewers base, J13 M7 Kildare town.
Brewing the first of our nationals competition beer its going to be a Genuine lager using fresh hallertauer and Saphir hops. fermented at about 12-14c and lagered near ice temps for 2 months to be peaked for early March.

no worries Shane, another great brewday, lads loved it especially the 2 newbies that arrived from Birr and ballyfermot, ( their defo hooked now) ;D.
Made a Vienna lager 5.5% should last to the nationals as we will ice it for 8 weeks after 3 weeks fermenting.

Our next two brewdays will be making competition beers, next up probably an Alt as that has to be lagered , first week Feb we will make an ale that will be ready on time.

In the meantime Ive to come up with 3 more beers to enter. Plan is 3 radicals and 3 normal Bjcp styles most likely unusual ones like Schwarzbier, Altbier and Scottish 80 shilling.

Radicals havnt been decided but maybe another 'lemon lager' that done so well in the nationals this year.
We also have some we made already at last brewday, namely reubens & hillary's pumpkin ale (7.1%) and our joint club effort on the spiced schwartz also 7.1% ( which will enjoy 2 months on ice as well.

So South Kildare is well and truly on a mission :) ;)
Long may it last 8)
