Bottling bits + sanitation

Had my bottling bucket gear for a couple of years now and wondering if it's still up to the task.

1. Does a tap like this come completely apart for cleaning? I can see some sediment in the threads but I don't want to force it open if that will break it.

2. My siphoning tubing is starting to have little speckles inside even after a soak in VWP. Where else can you buy this kind of food service quality tubing, aside from online?

The tap comes out yes and should really be cleaned after each use to prevent nasties building up.

To be honest though at 6.00 euro for a new one why bother if its getting manky just buy a new replacement

Watch lidl for when they do the bottle brushes etc, they do one which is like a very large pipe cleaner, it's about 1cm diameter and has a plastic handle, it's great for getting into the taps etc for cleaning.

You can also get siphon tube brushes from some HBS shops, though usually only online ones.

To be clear, this is not in the flow of beer, but between the tap body and the chamber it sits in that screws into the barrel. I'd really have to pry apart the whole tap.

The tap push pops into the valve, you should be able to push out with your thumb, a good soak in warm w5 every other brew
