and finding out you can still prime naturally jn bottles  after using finings
I figured I give the finings an oul whirl for my next brew - a pale ale me thinks

I have always been tempted to try bentonite to clear a beer in the secondary but have never tried it for fear of making a balls of it.

The biggest effect I have found on my clarity is the speed of cooling after the boil. Most of my beers that I have made since I bought a wort chiller have been noticeably clearer than any previous beer.

ah yeah - i do use a chiller myself - I guess what I want to do is get rid of the yeast from the keg - coz I can force carb now  - and i read on another post here that u can use the finings and still have enough yeast in suspebsion to prime

( thats for the excess that i bottle after kegging )

Time and cold is great way of fining your beer. I fill the Corny keg and chill very low. Most yeast will drop out  in the cold and form at the bottom of the keg, probably leave it for a couple of weeks, maybe longer. After carbonation is complete the first pint will pull out the yeast around the dip tube and its clear beers from then on.

Any extra in the FV can be bottled and bottle primed as normal.

hee hee ... time !!

having the kegs is such a novelty to me at the moment  -as soon as the beer goes in - I'm trying to get a pint out !!!

I recently put a stout into the keg straight from primary after @ 3  -3.5 weeks  - forced carbed and off I went !!!

the poor thing was only coming good when I reached the end of it !!!!

as for the cold - haven't got temp control yet - luckily the nights have been cold enough outside  - I ts does look kinda funny though - heading out to the back yard to pour a pint !!
