Our local paint supply place (Strand Rd. Derry) has leaflets where you can buy these for £45. Thinking of getting one eventually. I imagine they sell batches from time to time. Perhaps one of the group buyers could tell us:
a: how often they come about &
b: how much drinkable booze is at the bottom?

Beerbuddha

I'd say they come 'Sucked' dry  :D

Im just thinking if i had one, would i actually brew in it or will it just become one of those things that are hard to hide in the garden  ::)

But might look well in brewshed/mancave as a table !

could insuulate the inside, put in a small chiller, stick taps on top and enjoy as a wooden fridge / bar

or if you had a small kegerator you could pop this over the top of it....somehow....better engineering minds could work something out ;)

I like the ideas....i have 2 x ww2 brass howitzer shells that would look good as posts for taps, then attach to barrell with cooler inside it. Nice aged appearance.  Booze Barrel ! Can invite people to pull your own pint !

ye great simple, practical ideas that dont cost a fortune....thats what I believe the homebrew club should be about :)

Or else..
..get few more lads from this part of the country for barrel project fun?

Bad day brewing is better than good day working.

brenmurph

I dont think there is 11 of us alex :)

B interested in 10 gallon wooden barrel tho

Tom

Sure you and Kellie could fill one of them in a week no bother!

Na we r givin up beer, we r startin on non alcoholic fermented beverages from now on. Just took possession of our yogurt maker from HBW today....healthier than beer ;D

I think even for us 220 litres of the same beer wud be a bit much....we wud be bored with it before we got down to the 200ltr mark
Its all about experimenting with us especially since we setup the 1 gallon brewery couple weeks ago. 1st batch nearly ready to bottle ready for the twisted pepper in a few weeks 8)
