You want to buy a 38mm hole saw blade. McQuillans (affiliate gives 10% discount to members) on Capel street in Dublin or any hardware store near you. Would recommend buying one yourself as they are easy to wreck. Key to us them is to use slow speed and lots of downward pressure with periodic coolant applied at the drill spot (spray water bottle).

Are you drilling a pot or something heavier? If it' something heavier then a hole saw is perfect.  The pots would be b enter to use a qmax cutter.

Ah I see. i had assumed you had a stainless steel vessel. A Stanley would do it but a hole saw would be quicker & neater. Get in touch some evening and bring your plastic fermenter with you.  It won't take more than a few minutes to do. Have you some kind of our oring to secure the element to make it water tight.

I still have the seal that came with the kettle so I should be good

okay sounds good. I have a drill so all you would need to bring is your bucket and element.  Are you doing one or two elements? I would advise that you do a few tests after you add it to check for leaks.
