Alex  Polizzi "the fixer" for BBC 2 runs the ruler over the business. Any one interested  in starting a brewery or even running one at present this is well worth looking at.

Yeah watched the end of that the other night - definitely loads of good info.!

Excellent video presentation to ANY small buisness let alone brewers

I wonder if they'll take 5K for the duff bottling line as from the bit I saw it was just the input guides that were too wide! It needed commissioning from he who built it it!

While watching I was just enjoying a glass of SeaBerry Vintage (in a hurry) Port and thinking: "Hmm, maybe I should upscale and market this in Portugal!"

Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

Really enjoyed that, thanks for posting.

The most striking thing about the programme for me is how little focus there was on the beer itself. It was more about marketing, packaging and the headaches involved with selling the product. For me a great reminder of why I never want to own a brewery.

Were these guys at alltech? Pretty sure I tasted their beer.

The other thing i noticed is that non-brewing business expert pushed a citra based beer as the flagship, and not a mention of hop contracts :D. From a purely business perspective security of supply would make that a risky strategy for a small brewery.

Yep. They were the crowd I bought 50 casks and 2 dozen beer engines from, really nice couple. Mulligans in Stoneybatter regularly have their bottles in.
