Can anyone recommend an appropriate type of glove I could wear when sanitising equipment/brewing?Between last week cleaning bottles and tonight doing another brew,I think I've lost a layer of skin :) Guessing the gloves would need to be acid proof as I use Starsan and preferably thin like latex.I've had a look on Amazon and seen acid proof gloves but they look pretty thick. Also,I seen gloves for use with food but these weren't acid proof.I'm thinking acid proof food gloves would be ideal as they wouldn't react with Starsan and there wouldn't be any leaching into the mix.

I wear the latex medical gloves when cleaning as they come in boxes of 100s and when they go I just put on a fresh pair. I would recommed to keep a basin of water near by and wash your hands (gloves and all) when handling the starsan.

Hav u been using oxy action?

DCLavs

I got some vinyl gloves today in B&M for a quid...the blue medical ones sound promising...could you tell me the brand/type/any info I'd need to search/buy online please.

I find the disposable gloves are too short and the oxi end's up getting into them at the wrist. My wrists would be itchy a few days after using them with oxi  :(

The oxi seems to eat my pink marigolds after a few brews. It turns them white after about 2 brews and after that it's impossible to put them on without tearing them.

I haven't tried the medical ones. Are they the same as the disposable ones?

I now use long sleeve PVC gloves like these. They're awkward to work with alright, but they're tough  8)

You can try 'Premier healthcare excellence', the gloves are called performer, nitrile blue examination gloves or else try www.shermond.co.uk
