I saw that one but tbh imho its a little pricey for what it is and i need thermometers and ball valves so trying to keep costs down. ;)

I have 40cm lengths of 15mm Polycarbonate I can sell you: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191379640000.  I could pick up a connex elbow and eyebolt for cost too?  No decals though...

I bought this one during the week guys as it was the only one i could find long enough for my needs, came to just over 33.00 euro with shipping which is a lot for what it is but i had little choice in the end.If i had been able to source a ready to go sightglass kit here in Ireland i would have gone that route. Unfortunately i had it bought before i saw any of the ebay links provided but thank ye anyway as they may be handy for future. ;D

I appreciate the offers of the components i really do but for this i wanted the whole thing ready to go
from one single source. ;D

Is it food grade, polycarbonate tends to have nasty plasticisers.

Not from what I have read, it is acrylic which is the misused polymer. Polycarbonate has a much higher heat resistance and the BPA leakage is rated as improbable by the FDA.
I can post the spec sheets if it helps?

Its 100% guaranteed to migrate; 55 times faster at 100c than 20c.  Where people are divided is on whether it has any significance or not.

11mm inner diameter by 40cm = 38ml so probably talking less than 1ng/l in a boil which is completely insignificant - eu estimates plastic kettle at 110ng/l  :)

Therefore a litre of tea is 110 Times worse for you than a litre of beer! I like your thinking :D
