After the great wee night in Spoons I am planning to enter the comp and see how my Black IPA stands up. Heading down to the Ormeau Road shortly but wanted to know if I need to bring anything else other than my two bottles? Do they have all the forms in the Vineyard?

Check out the thread on the competitions page. You will see the link to the website for the Nationals. You need to register, print off the entry forms and labels. Attach the labels with elastic bands to your bottles.

Roo

Thank you. I was thinking American Stout for my Better Half Black. It seems to hit more of the requirements. What you think?

There is some talk about a speciality IPA category on the official thread, but don't know the details. Check the website.

Yo man did you get sorted?

Roo

Yeah. And picked up dead pony and punk IPA cans! Result

Glad you got sorted Roo. I was looking out for you today, as I was up and down passed The Vineyard a few times this afternoon (even called in for a browse when I had the boys across the road in Snazberry's for a Hot Chocolate after swimming. Resisted though! Would have spent a small fortune.

What Category did you end up going for?

I have registered 2 beers - and couldn't decide on a category for both. Opted for Old Ale for the Dark Mild, and just couldn't place the coffee porter. Anyways, I drop them in tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!

Nice one!

Was down there myself! Know what you mean Andy -  picked up a few and then had to walk away before I spent any more.

Could always do speciality for the coffee porter? Or you might be able to enter as robust porter? Depends how much coffee's in there.

Roo

I went for American Stout. Printer banjaxed so I had to go to the library. Sure nothing ventured and all that. Good luck to all who enter except for those in my category.

Did anyone else enter from the Belfast Homebrewers? Or is anyone planning on heading down for the either leg?

Good luck everyone!

Yeah, managed to stick a few in although the IPA is incredibly young, like 1 week in the bottle (getting the excuses in early ;) ).  Did you get any in yourself?  Doubt I can make it down for the judging but if it's at all possible it would be the Dublin one.

BrewBilly

I entered a Robust Porter, just want to see what the feedback is.

Great stuff! Yep ended up firing in a few myself.

Entered the same beer as an APA and an IPA as I wasn't sure which category it fitted in. Also a few different saisons which are ok but I want to get some feedback on them.

Happy days, good luck!  Anyone planning on entering the GCB competition?  Would make a good theme for May's meet up if we all entered.
