Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good book on brewing. Around yeast or a good recipe book. Also, is anyone interested in a book swap or setting up a library?

"Home Brew Beer" by Greg Hughes is the only one I've got a lot of recipes haven't tried any though.
But a lot of brewers swear by it. Cheap on amazon.

The best recipe book I've seen is Brewing classic styles by Jamil Zainasheff. It has at least one tried and tested award-winning recipe for every bjcp style, plus some background and brewing tips for each. Excellent book.
Everyone has to believe in something, I believe I'll have another drink...

The 2 best books I've read are Designing Great Beers by Ray Daniels and Yeast by Chris White and Jamil Zainasheff. They're both quite intense but have a lot of good info.

I have used Graham Wheeler's book 'British Real Ale' ( 3rd edition ) to good effect. Also John Palmers, 'How to Brew' is a well-recognised book on the subject but is an American publication. Plenty of stuff out there on youtube which could be useful to you.

I have the same book by Graham Wheeler. Good recipes and brewer tips. Haven't tried any recipes yet but it's good to read along with anything I'm drinking to we what hops are used etc. There's a Guinness recipe in the back.

That Guinness recipe is really good.  I have tried it to great effect.

I second mrwhiteno50 with regards Home Brew Beer by Greg Hughes (currently £3 on Amazon)

For £3 it's gotta be worth it!

My girlfriend got me this but haven't had a chance to read it yet. She also got me John Palmer's How To Brew which is great if you like a little bit of the science behind it all. Which I do.
