Hah!

BR: Here, Mario, stick your finger in this liquid and tell me how hot it is.
MB: Ouch! It's pretty hot, boss.
BR: Great work lad. You showed real character there. It was just a matter of finding a niche for you at the club.

The other one I have from China is accurate to 0.2-0.5 across the range, measure against a thermopen before you write it off  O0
Feic yez all I should have lets yez all buy it. :P
To repeat myself these are great for measuring cooled starters to avoid thermal shock, heat rises so thats the hottest part, you will get an accurate reading from wort, no use for hlt.
Equally before I pour into carboy I want to make sure I'm at pitch temp, I can measure with out sticking anything in it or dripping into it, I've seen pics of some of you fellas brewing, it aint pretty

Didn't Daire suggest a strip of black tape as the target for these?

Nice summer  beer in lidl  ;) and good 07 bottles for afteruse ;)

Radiator reflectors on sale in LIDL too. Might be handy for wrapping around brewers or mash tuns
...used to be NewBier

The Lidl version isn't as robust as the Aldi bubble wrap version, it is just very thin expanded polystyrene-type foam with the silver backing.

Doesn't stand up to too much bashing around when moving/storing your gear.

€2 for 500ml bottle of Dark Arts Porter in Lidl.

Buffalo 3000w induction burner. £119.98 on Amazon and delivered through parcel motel. Bought one a few days ago (upgraded from 2000w), very impressed with the performance

What size pot do you use on that? It looks great but I feel like I wouldn't be able to balance my brew kettle on her.

Skittlebrau

I use a 19L/ 32cm Pot on it. There's enough of the pot base on the plate for it to function. For BIAB method I used on Friday, 14.5L of wort from Mash to Boil in a little over 15 minutes (insulated pot). The good thing about this specific plate is the power is set by a knob from off-full power; so I had a timer set for the plate to turn on long enough to reach mash-in temp for when I arrived home from work. Most induction plates seem to switch on to a menu screen which is no good to pre set a mash temp easily.
