Would also be interested in beer Smith setup for the bulldog

Me too and If I'm honest, I'm surprised there's not more support info on that or usage instructions or even some pics/videos on the bulldog brewers website. Like there is for the likes of the grainfather or robobrew systems. It does worry me a little.

Treat any of these systems like a BIAB.
There are equipment profiles for Braumeister, Google is your friend.

Do a recipe search for grainfather in BeerSmith and you will find a few recipes with a grainfather profile. Just save the profile to your local profiles, rename it to bulldog and use it as a starting point.

I just finished a brew there and pretty much hit my numbers, ended up with 25 litres at 1.048 when Beersmith gave me 26 litres at 1.046. if I had topped by 1 litre after the sparge it would have been bang on. I will post my profile tomorrow on the Bulldog Brewer thread and ye can let me know what ye think.

My post was to highlight that there are other systems that this one emulates.
The equipment profile for these are all similar.
Manufacturers (even Braumeister) tend not to provide profiles for a piece of software of which they have no ownership.
If anyone is unable to use Beersmith or Google, look here...

Just trying to help.

John, Darren and Damo, I appreciate our help/advise on setting up a profile, I'll definatly be taking it on board.

To be clear I'm not having a go directly at Homebrewwest either. It just worries me that the product manufacturer has only one page of info on a new product to market (http://www.bulldogbrews.co.uk/products/bulldog-brewer.html or http://hambletonbard.com/) and it's the same info and photo on every online HBS website that stocks them.

Whereas if you look at other simular prodcts websites they all have an FAQ, videos, and support info. There was post recently about smartpid and that website had simular info too.

https://www.speidels-braumeister.de/en/
http://kegking.com.au/35l-all-in-one-single-vessel-brewery.html
http://www.grainfather.com/
http://smartpid.com/

If I was was to spend as much money on a product for home or work, I would avoid this company it because of the percieved lack support or even marketing info available. Again in fairness to HBW, any info I can find (via google) on the system is in this thread. Perhaps this is something that HBW could bring up with the company itself for the future.

Thanks for these posts, they are really helpful and I will pass them all onto Bulldog. Fal, you are correct . . . I think the initial priority may have been to get a quality product to market at an affordable price. Going forward, I'd expect to see more online info / support and lots more forum feedback. We are also at fault here . . . we took V1 demo videos on smart phones here in Galway but just haven't had the time to edit them and make a "movie". And now V2 is upon us. We hope to arrange a V2 demo in Dublin in a week or so. So please come along for a look if you can get there; more details to follow.

I can assure you that Bulldog are 100% committed to first class product support. For example, those that paid the correct price for V1 will get perforated top plates for free, and even the promo V1 customers will get them at a heavily subsidized price (we've ordered one for every V1 system we sold). In addition, we are working on recipes that will exploit the unique Bulldog features (e.g .hop stands).

The info you've already provided regarding wheat usage, pump temps etc and the profile info provided by the guys are the start of a good FAQ for bulldog too!

Just got word that Bulldog are actively working on more web content including videos etc. Will keep you posted.

We will be giving a demo of the Bulldog V2 on Saturday 15th October. This is very exciting, and coincides with the launch of a new Dublin HBS. Initially stocking about 1000 products, this will be a major HBS near the city centre. Easy to find with ample parking.

I expect they will be on here soon to tell you all about it!
