Last orders for Christmas delivery Ireland: 1 PM Thursday 22nd December. Shop closed 2 PM Christmas eve until 3rd Jan.

We may be around for a couple of days towards the end of next week so try ringing the shop if you have any urgent issues. Can't guarantee anything though. Really only for locals as I don't think the couriers are up to much until we reopen.

When do you think the gas burners will be back in stock and is there any significant difference between the mammoth and dragon burners?

Just put up 28 new liquid yeasts including the entire Yeast Bay range. Already en route from the USA, they should be here early next week.

We put the new strains up early because I figure some of you may like them ASAP (e.g. the Vermont Ale). This is usually when things go horribly wrong . . . fingers crossed! The rest we will add to stock when they arrive so check later in the week for lager / pils yeasts etc.

We've been trying for ages to come up with ways to help homebrewers mill their own grain. Its important for freshness, consistency and also because different equipment needs different crush specs. Unfortunately decent mills cost 140 euros plus. But we got a super bulk wholesale deal on these and still have a few left:

http://www.homebrewwest.ie/bulldog-malt-mill-plus-malt-bucket-plus-25-kg-whole-base-malt-bundle-special-4883-p.asp

Please read the link, its a great offer. We've sold over 100 of them without issues, bar 2 which may have been used in a non-standard way . . . or maybe were defective. Its a super record. We've used them in-store to crush many tons of grain per mill without issues.

Let me know if there any other ways we can help out. Ideas and suggestions of how we can improve are always welcome.

Just an update on the Bulldog Malt mill. I see some posts about issues with the screws . . . there aren't any. What happened was that the earlier mill came with screws that were too tight lo loosen unless the screw driver head was a perfect fit. These 4 screws connect the hopper to the base of the mill.

We now loosen these screws on every mill before its shipped. So that problem was resolved ages ago.

We only have a handful on Bulldog mills left at these prices.

So you can only purchase this one if you paid above 400?
When do you expect to have the others in?

Hi Tony,
No, they are free for ALL V1 owners. Not just the ones that paid full whack.

Bulldog have just provided 15 of them for free, so we are passing it on. We sold 30 of the V1s so I'm not sure if we can get the remaining 15 for free, we will have to wait and see.

Hi .  is there any news on the pump fix on the bulldog.  Pump jams becoming regular now.

HomeBrewWest

It's probably grain getting through the bazooka filter. Try avoiding a fine crush. We are talking to Bulldog about it. Most users don't have any issues though. Pm me your recipe and a pic of the crush; might be something simples.
