Has the STC shut off the power to the freezer? It looks like it has from the photo of the controller, it'll just take a while for the temp to come back up to the 2C in that case.

Temp probe might have been moved slightly when you put the other keg in?

Don't understand what you mean by shut off the power m8 but as to the probe i settled that back to where it was before, thing is if it takes too long for the temp to settle back to 3C the kegs will be frozen solid by then. :'(

Is your thermostat in the open or in a bottle of water? I would recommend having it submerged in water for accuracy.

Is the freezer still running when plugged in, even though below your stc set temperature?

Yes. ;D

I upped the temp to 6C with a 0.5 differential and put the probe in a glass of tap water. 8)

The STC should be turning the freezer off when it's reading below your set point.

If it's not somethings wrong with it, the settings or the way its wired

Will have a check tomorrow but wiring should be fine. ;D

The display suggests that the current temp is -2.6
The 'Heat' LED is lit which suggests that the logic in the STC is telling the Heating circuit to come on.

If the fridge is running, the COLD Relay may have failed closed.

Remove ALL power - Check continuity over the Cold contacts.
If this is closed you may be able to replace the relay or the STC complete.

To be honest right now this seems the most likley cause,,however i dont have a spare stc1000 to hand so would be several weeks yet until i do. ;D

I have one spare, one of the Display segments is gone, but it works perfectly other than that.

Greg2013

I rewired my stc 1000 and set it all back up again with my stout keg this time and the probe suspended as seen below and i set the stc 1000 for 10C just to test.As you can see she is heading sub zero big time so what is the issue ?  >:(
