James -
yeah ill do a brew if you think theirs the space, also if theirs a slow roast on your bbq i could bring my portable cadac bbq incase anyones hungry while waiting.Do you want me to bring any food, salad etc.

Nigel  -
If you have some yeast ready to roll that would be great, what specialty grains did you use for your saison, looking at a saison recipe here that calls for cara vienne and cara munich have'nt got either.

Here's what i do have if anyone wants to swap for something more suitable for a saison.
Munich
roast
flaked
chocolate
black
amber
peated
biscuit
aromatic
wheat
torrified wheat
cara red

Would aromatic or biscuit be useable ?

Jacob -
I brought a keg a short distance up the road to a party on day of party and it was pouring more than half foam.
might be an idea to get the keg over on saturday.

Ill bring some bottled stout and AIPA

QuoteFolks, looks like we are sorted with the food but what about drinks? :P

I don't mind drinking James's finest but don't think that it will be fair to our host.
What about if we'll bring something for tasting?
I can even bring a cornie of Belgian Pale Ale (~10-15l).

@Will: that's the same you got from me last week. Is it good enough?
@James: will you have some free space in your kegerator to plug it in? (If not I can bring picnik tap with me, it should be cold enough outside to keep it chill :P)

Yea - of course there is space in my kegerator for your beer !!

That would be great - I am a little low on beer - brewing for a wedding - so that is very much appreciated !

@Cathal -

I like all those grains !

@Nigel -

The Saison sounds good - what was your recipe - probably easier if cathal knows what to bring.

As I said - I have pils / wheat and pale ale - oh I have a lot of crystal as well  ;)

nigel_c

Pale, Wheat and some Vienna / Munich is what i used. nice and simple. I used elderflower and a small amount of magnum for bittering. I have some vienna if you want me bring some along.

Good idea. Will try to drop by with a cornie 2morrow then.

Will_D

I'll bring over a keg of cider.

At the moment its 2C so I have just put the milk in the fridge to warm up!

A keg outside over Saturday night will be colder than in the Kegerator.

I will bring the gravy making bits and pieces.

Also some onions/garlic/mustard/horseraddish(made from a faller at Leopardstown)  etc.

What are we having with the beef? Bread rolls, Burger Buns?

QuoteYour such a messer - the forecast is for

6C, low wind and 0% chance of rain !

Perrr fect for brewing !

Maybe not for a barbque - but what the heck - we set the trends at the NHC !

And todays forecast ahem  :o,   I also deliver post in Kerry ;D

"The cold and mostly dry weather will continue on Saturday night, Sunday and for much of next week. During this period it will be mostly dry with sunny spells by day and with clear spells at night. However a few wintry showers of sleet or snow are possible in coastal counties of east Ulster and Leinster on Saturday night and Sunday"

Wear woolies chaps I'm sorry I cant make it, Nigel I gave Will 2 items for you, and a Donegal blonde for you all to try, interested to hear all your thoughts on that one. Brendan the Head Brewer will be selling it in The B&C in bottles and promised to bring us a case down!!

Have just checked my malt stocks!

For some reason (pissed while ordering, maybe) I have found 4 x 500 gms of Roast Rye. Will bring a few bags tomorrow.

Sorry guys would not be able to make it :-[
I drive way to fast to worry about cholesterol

So after a snowy start we got 3 brews on. The beef was gently marinated by hail/snow every time Will checked the BBQ. When our illustrious leader the Mighty Tube arrived the sun came out! (IT must be true what they whisper about him: "The sun truly does shine o o h a !")

A great day for all and much thanks to James and family for hosting us:
