Pheeel

Okay so we talked about this last night. For Cask two three ideas have been floated about

a) Baltic Porter
b) Old Ale
c) Wee Heavy

I stupidly suggested the last one (It's a clone recipe for Skullsplitter http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/118/402/)
6.20 kg Pale Malt (2 Row) UK (5.9 EBC)
0.28 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (118.2 EBC)
0.17 kg Wheat, Torrified (3.3 EBC)
0.11 kg Aromatic Malt (51.2 EBC)
0.06 kg Chocolate Malt (689.5 EBC)
0.03 kg Peat Smoked Malt (5.5 EBC)
0.28 kg Cane Sugar (0.0 EBC)
42.00 g Whitbread Golding Variety (WGV) [6.00 %] - Boil 60.0 min
0.50 Items Whirlfloc Tablet (Boil 15.0 mins) Fining
7.00 g Goldings, East Kent [5.00 %] - Boil 15.0 min

To make it easier if everyone that wants in on cask two list could state their order of preference. First option 3 points, second 2 etc. Whichever gets the most wins :)

Okay looks like an Old Ale for cask 2

Nigel, can you post the Old Ale recipe?

Dates:
Assuming it's too late to brew this weekend I assume folks will be able to brew either next weekend or the week after. Giving a couple of weeks for fermenting then the earliest date for filling would be the 11th June but it's probably more realistic to say the weekend of 18th June. Thoughts?

Here's an old ale recipe. OG is 1.085. Comes in at 8.7%:

28.00 g Fuggles [4.50 %] - Boil 60.0 min
28.00 g Fuggles [4.50 %] - Boil 30.0 min
28.00 g Fuggles [4.50 %] - Boil 5.0 min

RE: dates. I'm away til the 1st of June but I'll be mad to brew so I'll have them both on a day or 2 later

Will_D

Stop Press:

Dempsey has just told me that his casks are NOT 120 L more like 140L. Its too late for me to crunch the maths but I will in the morning. We may need 7 shares per cask!

Not that this has 'owt to do with what we put into them!!
