10,000 units = 143 pallets! :o
I don't think they want to be dealing with the likes of us by the sounds of it?
What small brewery would lash out on this!

With all our trade conections can we not get a bit better intel on new commercial crates?

None of the micros use crates. Presumably for a few reasons; they take up a heap of space, they'd lose loads of them (to people like us!) and any of the ones that get bottled in England already come packaged up.

LordEoin

damn right.. imagine if some dirty student happened upon a stray Metalman or Black's crate.. It'd probably end up straight in the boot of the car and never seen again  ;)
It's hard enough for bars to hold onto micro branded beer glasses without also having to keep eyes in the back of their heads for the crates.

But anyway... nobody wants me to pick up a few of the crates mentioned earlier, no?

Hi Eoin

Don't necessarily want to purchase from them but I would have hoped they would at least respond with the name of a distributor. If you speak German I would search on Google.de for suppliers other than the ones I have found.

Shams

K, I can also check on German homebrew site. Ask if anyone there has a stack of stuff they want rid of.

Sent using a complex system of semaphore and ninjas.

Unfortunately nobody appears willing to deal with us. Pity poor form to not even respond to queries. However not giving us just yet will do some more leg work on Google and see if I can find smaller distributors.

Anybody know where the likes of bulmers would get their crates from.

Eoin how many crates can you get?

I think there's 100 or so crates. Myself and Eoin are going to collect as many as we can today.

yup, but as nobody but garry has expressed any interest in them we might just take enough for ourselves.
I was going to take the lot, but if nobody wants them there's little point

Would like to take some but don't have a realistic way to shift them to Dublin from your location. Thanks for n keeping us posted.

I understand. Same reason I was keeping away from Dublin crate group buys. Too bulky and troublesome for distribution.
These are great anyway. Because they were originally for 1L glass bottles, they have no bothers with any pint bottles and even tall wine bottles and fat 750ml magnums like these
And there's about 70 left.

johnrm

I could probably do with a stack of these.

mr hoppy

LordEoin

That would have been good to know before we went to buy them.
I might be able to get a lend of trailer again at some stage if people want to take all the remaining crates, but as you're probably closer to Mitchelstown than me it might be quicker to just shoot up the M8 and grab what you need.

johnrm

Sorry, lots of that 'family', 'life' and 'work' stuff distracting me from brewing at the mo.!  :P

I could spin up with a trailer. I don't have storage though.
How much are these things?

Garry

€2 each  :)

Storage? Build a playhouse out of them?

I almost have a fort built around my computer at the moment... ;D
