These apparently contain 7.5 litres of pre-boiled "pure liquid wort", hop pellets, yeast and even priming sugar. No malt extract or sugar needed.

Getting good reviews on Jim's Beer Kit but they only seem to be available in light/lager form. :/

LordEoin

WOW they really LIKE to put the occasional WORD in all CAPS, don't THEY?
Has anyone tried these kits or similar liquid wort kits?

@geterbrewed

We do like our caps lock to grab your ATTENTION, we aren't shouting been told off for that at the start on this forum LOL. Hoping its not too off putting the web designer loves it it would seem..

I can see that there isn't a great deal of info on these kits and was thinking would you guys like us to put a kit up for review. I don't know how you want to select who gets or if we are allowed to do it on here it but we can happily courier one to the lucky reviewer in return for a review?

Mods, Please advise if this is acceptable, put up with the best intentions....

The club tends to be amenable to such deals with a review and full disclosure.

If Geterbrewed is kind enough to donate one why don't you raffle it and cut down on the air miles and send it directly?

Start a list here with a cutoff. Draw straws for the winner.

Billythegypsy

Are these all lagers?

I'd dare say that a hell of a lot of kit brewers don't have a lagering fridge, myself included.

+1

Just start a raffle off yourself, set your own end-date and post it out direct :)
I'll start the ball rolling:

1 - LordEoin - I'd be more than happy to review it :)

@geterbrewed

Sorry for the delayed reply, I had been emailing Il Tube he has kindly agreed to organise the raffle, we are putting up a Pilsner kit for raffle.

@@geterbrewed, what kind of yeast comes with the pilsner kit; ale or larger?

LordEoin

And the winner of a free surprise slap is Garry! (no raffle needed on that one)

If it's a cooper's sachet with no letters, then it's their Ac Coopers ale yeast (their own strain, not the same as the yeast in their commercial ales, developed in-house and propagated under contract).
It was made on the 9th of June 2010 and is out of date.

Unlikely that a Young's kit would come with out of date Coopers yeast.

I have emailed Youngs to get an answer about the yeast.
