Lads, we need to organise a brewday.
This can be home or Pub based.

If pub, pick a pub.
For anyone not afraid of the Wilds of East Cork I volunteer my back garden/shed as soon as I sort a few bits out.

Thoughts?

Garry

Build it and they will come  :) How is the shed coming on anyway?

Can you pick a right wet day like the last one, the damp smell is nearly gone from my car seats  :P

Should we be thinking about the next brew for the barrel or is there any interest?

derfel

I vote for East Cork, but then I would :)

LordEoin

East Cork's a fine spot (apart from Midleton, that place is a kip!). My North Cork garden is up for it too. plenty of room for tents and a bonfire. BYOC&H (bring your own coke & hookers)
I'm not convinced of the value of the barrel though, surely it would be better to brew together to the same recipe but your own methods, ferment/bottle/condition individually, keep a half dozen bottles each to bring to the next brewday to see how everyone's individual efforts compare.
Extra coke & hookers for the best end result.

Did Ronan (Bierhaus) mention something at the Monochrome comp? Or did I imagine it  ::)

johnrm

He did. I was talking to him about doing a brew demo.
I think we have to survey their outdoor space.
How about having the next meet there?

Garry

Taf

Gets very busy on a Friday or Saturday for a meetup at the Bierhaus.

LordEoin

yeah, great as the place is it's small and fills fast.
Their outdoor area consists of a footpath too right? probably not suitable for a brewday.

mr hoppy

Any alternative suggestions?

LordEoin

why would we need to have a brewday in a pub?

Garry

I suppose the only real advantage of having it in a pub is that newbies would be more inclined to come along for a look?

mr hoppy

If the idea of doing a brew day is to missionary, rather than just having a bit of fun I'd have thought the FW would be ideal - if they'd be open to it. There's space and you won't be standing around in the rain.

Johnrm didn't suggest doing it in a pub initially and if this is just a bit of fun doing I'd agree with LE that doing it in a pub mightn't be the way to go.

Garry

Craic would the main objective. I think someone's gaff is probably best so.

You can throw my place into the hat too. I've finally cleared out the garage so there's way more space than when ye last saw it. We could brew in there if it's raining or drag the gear outside if it's dry. The playground is nearly finished too so you can bring the sprogs if ye want?
