That's cheating!! :D

Surely that's against the homebrew judge's code of ethics.. or something.. no?? ;)

Why no, it's being a contentious judge. I don't deem the beer of a good enough quality to push on a poor laboured judge who is trying to evaluate and help fellow homebrewers ;)

Or, in this case, CraicLad wants to taste it even though I don't think it's that good :D

Was that supposed to be "conscientious judge" rather than "contentious judge" :)

Yes I did consider that based on past form, but will give you the benefit of the doubt :)

Lads, no pissing about now tonight.. No slipping the judges cash or sexual favours in an effort to improve your scores!

We have some of the best beer judges in Ireland, as well as john o'c, coming tonight. Let's not ask them to compromise their credibility...  ;) :D

I'll be there about 7:45, to get a few things set up. Some of you are probably going to 'spoons for a palate cleanser beforehand..

Told you it was the goats we like.

Hope you have the pencils, scoresheets, torches, crackers, guidelines, flavour wheels, spittoons, ..., etc  ready?

See you there at 8.

Bubbles

Jesus lads, you'd swear I never organised one of these things before! 😀

No need for spitoon.. Just use the floor man... ;)

Grants to Conor for organising a well run night. Was great Craic and thanks to all that took part. Now to recover after my jog for the train...

Good one Bubbles. Next time get some of your minions to help you, run off your feet
As always great time, fe*k our crappy public transport which shuts down just as its getting fun.
See you back north of the border soon.

Bacchus: keep on doing what your doing

Well organised and great to see a club in the ascendency with fellas improving all the time.
Boon Geuze took a beating at €5.75 a bottle, but somebody went home happy ;)

GCB nothing to worry about our titles safe ;)

Brain not quite active yet, but here goes..  :-\

It was a brilliant night. Everyone went home happy with the scoresheets, and the Q&A session afterwards was felt to be really beneficial.

Managing the scores and the "cellar" along with stewarding 3 tables was hectic enough, but manageable. But I don't think I could have handled a fourth table.  :-[

Big thank you to our 6 judges - Ronan, Peter, Colm, Rossa, John and Shane. Hope you enjoyed getting some practice in. Much appreciated.

But the biggest thanks of the night has to go to Colm, Adam and the Dark Horse for supporting us. They're a great bunch of lads, get in there and support them.

Thanks also to the members of the South Dublin Brewers, many of whom were unfamiliar with the business of competition brewing, who entered into the spirit of things and offered their beers up for evaluation.

It was terrific to see the camaraderie and community spirit of the NHC in action once again last night. Very proud to be a member.

Cheers lads.
