Hello all,

I was unsure where to put this so mods please put it where you'd like.  I've found a job lot of whole grain at a significant reduction,

30 x 25kg whole pale malt maris otter blend
13 x 25kg whole wheat munich malt
9 x 25kg whole crystal malt

Price would be under half that of retail.  Story is was delivered in error to a farmer instead of brewers grain and he wants rid of it, he's based in Co. Cork.

I'm happy to drive down and pick it up, but I'd need a van to do so and a club member with said van and who would lend a hand.  Is anyone interested?

LordEoin

Why did the farmer need a ton of brewer's grain?
What part of co cork. One of us rebels could store it for a few days from purchase to collection if there's a rush.

I'll take a bag of marris otter. start a provisional list?

I don't need malt but I can act as a rendezvous if required.

Just bumped a link onto the NCB site. I know a few "productive" brewers are again looking for grains.

As an aside; What are the criteria for successful long term storage of malted WHOLE grains?

Brewers grain is what farmers call the mash or waste grain that is left after brewing and is sold to them as feed. As to why he needed a ton of it, he may have a large herd, I don't know more than that. I have asked for photos of the bags to identify producers. As far as I know he has the grain no longer than 2 months. He's based in Glanmire, Co. Cork

Also lads, I know I'm new here, I'm getting into homebrewing all grain myself, but fully admit that no more than anyone here without going there and checking it out I can't make any statement of fact on the stuff itself. Beag nó mór.  I'll upload photos if I get them.

Would an interested Cork member take the trek out to Glanmire?  If other capital i.e. Dublin or surrounding area members were interested I could get quotes for pallet collection from Cork to Dublin.

At the price its offered at it would be a shame to let it go.

I'd be on for a bag of MO I I could get it the upper side of the border.

Actually, I'd take 2 bags of MO.

I would take 2 bags of MO.
I wouldn't mind some crystal but would only want about 5kg, if people wanted to split.

Barry I could get your grain as far as Dundalk, if that would be any help.
