What an absolute triumph of a day, it was just brilliant. All the segments were top notch, though I'd have loved to listen to Ben from Faram's for longer. The "world hop tour" he did was absolutely fascinating to me and it was a pity he had to motor through it near the end. Perfectly understandable though, with so many quality contributors, strict scheduling was very important and contributed great to the day's success.

The beers were great too, thanks to the pro brewers for such generosity.

Like everyone else, I'm so impressed by the organisational capabilities of some of the members of this club. Take a long bow lads, you should feel very proud of yourselves today.

I'm disappointed to be missing the AGM today, but I'm on childminding duty, paying the price for my gallavanting yesterday. ️ Have a great day, and go easy on the sauce...

P.s. did anyone get the shits at what the speaker on water said :(
I live in Raheny. After listening to him, I'm on bottled water now!
What did he say? Do I want to know?
If you live in Raheny the expression "get the lead out" has added meaning :o

Also when health and safety was the opening topic I noticed many slinging down in their seats as the don't do this points were being made. Personally I sat straight up ;)

Personal favorites were chris yeast talk and the combination of both water talks stood out. Safety was worthy of its place in there alright and a good opener. Great venue and generous sponsors too. Cant wait for next years edition. Organisers did a brilliant job.

Not the image I was looking for while having my breakfast.  :-X

Chatting  again today after the AGM their was quite a bit of chat about the H&S presentation by Rory. It has really made me more aware and I even woke up this morning thinking about how can I be safer at home, lift less and ensure my hobby doesn't cost me more than just a few bob and my time

My beside locker has been emptied of 'earth fittings'... Ahem - might start work on keggle.

Just to add another thanks to all the conference organisers, and everyone who worked so hard to make it all happen!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the day, and everything from the conference website to the line up of speakers was an absolute triumph - well done  ;)

jawalemon

Great day, thanks to the all involved.

Are the presentation slides going to be posted anywhere?

There's no such thing as bad beer - some just taste better than others

I broke a glass carboy once. It was full of cleaning solution (thankfully) and a small knock against the marble top was all it took. The wife was not too happy!!

Here's a slide which went down with a bang  ;D

Cringe-worthy stuff! I like the idea of fermenting in glass, but in practice, I know it just wouldn't work for me. I ferment in the house, and with the kids around, it's not worth the risk.

Disgusted I missed this. Only saw it was on last week and the wife already had plans made. Will definitely be there next year.

Btw- did the brew dog guy give any details about 5am saint hop schedule? (have a clone of this waiting to be dry hopped)

The slides would be great.

DEMPSEY

Well he did say that the hop edition on one of the beers was 800 fooking kilos :o. No wonder there is a hop shortage. Almost 1 ton of hops and they send it in to the vessel by way of a compressed air shoot. :)

Can't remember any details of the 5am saint, just the hopping of Punk IPA - a lorry load of whirlpool additions  :)
